Yvonne and Kevin Coate are fifth generation Australians from a farming background at Margaret River.  They grew up experiencing the end of an old era - pre-refrigeration, electricity and scheme water.  Their interest in Western Australian history was kindled from the pioneer life of their grandparents in the south west.
