MY VARIOUS ENDEAVOURS

A true life story

by

Walter NP Scott

An autobiography of Walter Scott, born in Bridgetown in 1916.  It is a recollection of his journey through life and covers farming in Bridgetown and Bremer Bay, running a station south of Broome, pearling in Broome, and various mining ventures in the Pilbara of Western Australia and in North Queensland.  He also investigated other projects in Papua, New Guinea and Fiji.

It also includes a wonderful collection of short stories from Broome.

Although many of his exploits ended in disappointment, Walter's unfaltering drive for success kept him pushing on towards other exciting endeavours resulting in an enriched, varied and fulfilling life of which many of us could only dream.

It will give readers the opportunity to experience what life was like in the outback and of the challenges he had to cope with on his journey.

This book is dedicated to his wife, Alma who sadly passed away in 2002 and as the old adage says, behind every great man is a great woman.  Alma stood by Walter through all his hardships and achievements for which he is truly grateful.

It demonstrates a strong man of high principles with lots of sheer grit and determination.

This book will be of particular interest to local communities of the places where he traveled and to younger generations who may obtain inspiration from Walter's untiring drive.
